How to Fix Micro Bubbles in Clear Coat
After painting a vehicle and finishing it with clear coat paint, it is difficult to see any imperfections until the paint has dried completely. Once the base and clear coat paint have dried, micro bubbles, orange peel and other faults show, especially in the sunlight. Instead of sanding down the entire paint job and starting over, there are ways to fix micro bubbles in clear coat paint that won't harm the base paint.
Instructions
1. Use 800 grit sandpaper and water to lightly sand all of the micro bubbles out of the clear coat. Hold your hand flat against the surface with the sandpaper in between. Don't push hard so the sandpaper doesn't sand through the clear coat and into the color base coat at home. Hold a water hose with running water above the sandpaper while sanding. The paper should stay soaking wet while sanding to prevent buildup from scratching the clear coat(Visit our website). Sand gently until the micro bubbles are almost gone.
2. Sand the area again using 1200 grit sandpaper and water. Use the same sanding methods as with the 800 grit sandpaper. Once this is complete, sand again using 1400 grit sandpaper and the previous method. Rinse the car and allow it to dry completely.
3. Place a clean buffing pad on the buffer. Pour 1/4 cup of liquid rubbing compound onto the buffing pad and lay it on the surface of the sanded area. Turn the buffer on and move it in small circular motions while it works. The buffer should not be held in one place for longer than three seconds or it may burn through the paint. As you buff the surface, you can see the clear coat become smooth and very shiny. Buff until all of the dull, sanded areas are gone.
How to Apply Protective Sealer Coat to Laminate Floor
Laminate flooring is generally much more durable and scratch-resistant than wood and can be maintained with a minimal amount of fuss. Laminate is frequently used in kitchens for this reason since the floors in those rooms generally get exposed to much more wear and tear from grease and dirt. Laminate flooring can be coated with a protective sealer to help maintain it for a longer period of time. Applying a protective sealer to a laminate floor can be done fairly simply with a little bit of work.
Instructions
1. Remove any furniture or other items from the floor so you can apply sealant evenly.
2. Mop the floor with a mixture of warm water and mild detergent to remove any dust and dirt prior to applying sealant. The mop should just be slightly damp and not soaked to prevent water from soaking into the seams of the laminate.
3. Dry the floor with a soft rag to further remove dust. The floor needs to be completely dry before continuing.
4. Apply a laminate sealer to the floor using a mop. You can use a water-based sealer that will last several months or a polyurethane sealer that lasts longer but may darken lighter floor coverings. Start in the far corner of the room and work toward the door so you don't get stuck in a corner.
5. Apply a second coat here. once the floor has dried. Several mens coats help make the sealer last longer and provide better protection to the floor.
